General
The Courtyard, converted from outbuildings at Hazelbank Farm, is a fine equestrian property comprising a new house, stables and indoor riding arena with 16 acres of land. South facing with a fine open outlook across its own land, The Courtyard is situated within a cluster of country properties about 2 miles north of Dunlop in Ayrshire. It is some 17 miles from Glasgow City Centre which is easily accessible via the A736 Glasgow/Irvine Road. The popular village of Dunlop has a Post Office, excellent primary school and railway station with regular services to Glasgow (which takes 20 minutes). Hazelbank is within the catchment for Stewarton Academy whilst the private schools of Belmont House and Hutchesons are within easy travelling distance. Prestwick and Glasgow Airports are easily reachable being 22 and 16 miles distant respectively. Around Hazelbank there is a network of quiet country roads suitable for hacking amidst attractive unspoilt rolling countryside.
Ayrshire itself is renowned for its many golf courses including the world famous facilities at Turnberry and Royal Troon. There are fine yachting facilities at marinas in Troon, Largs, Ardrossan and Inverkip. There are many opportunities for game sports in the region with some of south west Scotland’s best salmon and trout fishing available. Alloway south of Ayr is the birthplace of Robert Burns. The equestrian centres of Rowallan and Ingliston are easily accessible within half an hour.
DESCRIPTION
The Courtyard combines an excellent new house with first class equestrian facilities. The house itself has been built by the current owners in 2003/2004 and is constructed on a timber frame on 2 stories under a pitched tiled roof and provides comfortable and spacious family accommodation. Particular features include the fine wrap round conservatory with lovely south facing views over the land, the reclaimed birch hardwood flooring used throughout the house together with the hardwood doors and frames, and the high level of appointment with en-suite facilities and bathrooms. The ground floor of the house has under floor heating.
The floodlit indoor arena is a marvellous facility as are the 5 excellent stables adjacent, and there is separate access to this building and ample space for the parking of a horsebox. The grazing land of some 16 acres provides ample pasture for both grazing, exercising and production of haylage.
The Courtyard has been designed and constructed with the owner’s equestrian interests firmly in mind, and it is a superb and easily manageable equestrian facility.
