Shore Cottage is an attractive, traditional cottage in an idyllic coastal location. Approached off a private forest track, the property sits in a sheltered bay with direct access to the shores of Loch Alsh and in the heart of some of Scotland’s most beautiful and unspoilt landscape. Formerly an estate cottage, the property has recently been extended and improved to provide a delightful and comfortable home in harmony with its surroundings. The kitchen extension is bright and airy with new fittings and a solid fuel Rayburn, while the charming sitting room and ground floor bedroom both have wood burning stoves, creating a warm and traditional atmosphere. There are stunning views from all aspects of the cottage both over the loch to the Kyle Peninsula and from the rear of the property to the hills behind.

The village of Glenelg, about 5 miles from Shore Cottage, is the main settlement on this rugged and beautiful peninsula and has a shop and post office, primary school, seasonal ferry to Skye and the Glenelg Inn, famous for its good food and glorious location. Kyle of Lochalsh, which can be reached by road or boat, has a wider range of shops and amenities, while Inverness, about 2 hour’s drive away, has all the facilities of a modern city including its airport with regular flights to the South.

The West Coast of Scotland is famous for its mild climate and stunning coastline with sheltered, sandy beaches and island views. The unspoilt countryside and traditional communities make this area popular with those seeking a change of lifestyle, a second home or the opportunity to enjoy its many leisure and sporting opportunities. Shore Cottage is ideally located to enjoy the best of the rural Highlands with a mooring available in the loch, walks direct from the cottage and regular sightings of native wildlife including otters, red kites, pine martens and seals.

DESCRIPTION

Shore Cottage is of stone construction, harled with a mansard slate roof and stone faced extension. The property is approached off the public road via a track through mixed woodland to the lochside. Here the track forks and leads to deer gate opening to a parking area at the side of the house.
