Sanachan House lies in Kishorn, a scattered community set in the midst of some of Scotland’s most dramatic and beautiful countryside. Formerly an estate house, Sanachan House is about 100 years old and today provides comfortable family accommodation, its delightful setting and accessible location making it an ideal as a second home or permanent residence. A short walk from the house is Loch Kishorn, a sea loch, where moorings are available and offering the opportunity to enjoy some outstanding sailing around the Applecross Peninsula and the islands of the Inner Hebrides. To the rear of the property the land rises to open moorland, home to a variety of rare wildlife and flora and providing stunning views across the loch to the Applecross Mountains.

Lochcarron, about 5 miles away, is a delightful West Highland village lying strung out along the north shore of Loch Carron. The village grew up around its fishing industry, but nowadays it is a popular tourist destination and provides excellent amenities with a range of shops, a post office, doctors’ surgery, petrol station, a number of hotels and restaurants, and a 9 hole golf course. Primary schooling is available in the village and secondary schooling in Plockton, with the option of boarding or using the daily school bus. There is a railway station at Strathcarron, a stop on the famous Kyle line between Inverness and the Kyle of Lochalsh, said to be the most scenic railway line in Britain. Kishorn itself has a small shop and seafood restaurant.
