Grandtully Church lies about 2½ miles east of the popular small Highland Perthshire town of Aberfeldy which offers a good range of local services, including a medical centre and cottage hospital; banking; veterinary, opticians and dental practices; shopping with a varied selection of quality shops; and schooling at the well regarded Breadalbane Academy. There is also a Primary School at Grandtully and a General Store/Post Office in Strathtay (less than 3 miles east). Pitlochry, about 11½ miles, is home to the famous Festival theatre and has a mainline railway station and the pleasant county town of Perth about half an hour drive south. There are also a number of well known private schools in the area including Preparatory Schools at Ardvreck and Craigclowan; and Kilgraston, Glenalmond, Morrison’s and Strathallan offering day school and boarding facilities.

The area provides ready access to a wide range of recreational pursuits including golf on the many 9 and 18 hole courses; water sports on lochs and rivers; climbing and walking with several Munros nearby. The Aberfeldy Recreation Centre has a 25m pool and squash courts amongst its facilities. There are also many clubs and organisations catering for an extensive range of interests.

DESCRIPTION

Grandtully Church is a handsome building of attractive local stone which has been sympathetically converted to form a spacious family home of character with features including original exposed beams, mahogany doors and finishes and polished wood floors. A point of interest is a commemorative stained glass window and tablet on the west gable.
