There is primary and secondary schooling in Aberfeldy, including the well regarded Breadalbane Academy. In addition, there are several reputable public schools within an hour’s drive. The Aberfeldy Recreation Centre includes a swimming pool and squash courts and there are a number of local clubs and societies catering for most interests. For the sportsman this area of Highland Perthshire is amongst the most famous in Scotland. The River Tay flows within a mile of Dull and salmon fishing is available on this famous river. Glenlyon, Scotlands longest glen, is well known for stalking and grouse shooting, whilst Strathtay itself plays host to a number of sporting pheasant shoots. Further a field, Pitlochry some 18 miles to the east is a popular centre with a number of local retailers and restaurants. Other attractions include, the fish ladder and the Festival Theatre, which provides seasonal performances. A short distance to the north is Blair Atholl where the annual horse trials are held at Blair Castle. A little further north is the famous destination shop the House of Bruar and the spectacular Bruar Falls.
The McLeod at Dull lies in an attractive position in the heart of this historic village and enjoys magnificent views over Upper Strathtay to the forests and mountains of Highland Perthshire beyond.
Externally the McLeod is arranged under a pitched slate roof with a mix of natural stone, timber cladding and white harled walls. Giving a tremendous blend of finishing materials which lends itself to a unique and contemporary look.
